*Sigh*
It was cold today. So cold, in fact, I had to wear my winter coat. As I begrudgingly pulled it out of my closet, memories of tank tops and shorts floated through my mind. When I went to pull my hands through each sleeve, I cringed as the insulation crinkled at my touch. The fact that it is no longer summer hit me like a brick to the head.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind winter. That much. Well, I really only like winter during December, because of Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year's. But once I mark January first off of my calendar, I hate winter with a burning, fiery passion in my soul.
Here is a simulation of what happens:
The date has been marked off on my calendar.
My drawn-out and over dramatic sigh.
Even though Thanksgiving hasn't happened yet, I am already trying to mentally prepare myself for the seasonal depression that sets in during January. Generally I am able to pull myself out of the funk by sometime in mid-April. But that never seems to come soon enough.
I was doing a pretty good job not hating winter today, until in the car about an hour ago. Here is what happened:
Me enjoying my car ride in peace.
A Christmas Carol comes of the radio.
Me unsure of what just happened.
I couldn't believe it. A Christmas carol. Before Thanksgiving. That's a first for me. I feel kind of bad for Thanksgiving, you know? It hardly gets any recognition. Christmas and Halloween always but in and get all the recognition. Poor Thanksgiving.
Let's all have a moment of silence for Thanksgiving.
Okay, moment over.
Anyway, here is an album to tide you over until the next post, I've been listening to it as I was writing. It's kind of melancholy*, which makes sense, since we're mourning Thanksgiving here. Enjoy.
