It Is Almost May
The last time I checked, I do NOT live in the Southern hemisphere. I am considering consulting a globe and checking up on where Nebraska is located, because it is literally getting COLDER as the month of April wears on. The first week of the month brought sunny days and pleasurable, if a bit windy, weather. Since then things have been spiraling downwards into a deep, dank hole of regret and depression. And I am not just talking about my mood here, people. It actually snowed last week. SNOWED! CAPS LOCK! SCARY AND UNPREDICTABLE!
Due to the poor and rather unseasonable weather, I have had a lot of time to sit inside and reflect upon life. A couple days back I went into my old 8th grade self's existential crisis "OH MY GOD WE ARE KILLING THE EARTH" mode, but I have been able to snap myself out of it relatively easily.
On a slightly more positive note, it is May next week, which means a few different things... One, we get to celebrate the always fabulous and always adorable Josalyn's birthday. Also, the weather will get warmer in theory. And finally, school will be winding down. I've already checked out for this year though. I can tell because I'm doing all of my math homework on leftover graph paper from two units ago using pen. Let's see how long it takes until my math teacher gets mad at me.
Have a lovely day! :)

Small Revelations
I am wearing shorts today. I thought it was going to be nice outside, but it's just raining. I'm afraid that it will keep raining all day, and that it'll be pouring by the time school gets out. If tat is the case, I'm going to have to take off my shoes and hold them safely in my hoodie because I don't want to ruin them in the dirty water.
In other news, this morning in the car I had a mini revelation. It's not anything grand, and it's something that zillions of people already know, or already knew (in the case of all the people who are dead). For those of y'all who do not live in the good old U of A, you may not know that on our 25 cent coin there is the phrase E pluribus unum, which means 'out of many, one'.
"E" in Latin means 'out of' or 'away from'. If this word is used in a sentence, the word that something is coming out of has to be put into the ablative case. It's just how it is. And while in the car I realized that 'pluribus' is in the ablative case because 'ibus' is an ablative 3rd declension noun ending. And I had a huge nerd moment. Whether or not this makes sense to anyone else but me, I suppose that is not very importnat. At least I know I've actually learned something in Latin class.
UPDATE 5/13/13: As a matter of fact I did take off my shoes, and it was pouring freezing rain and my feet practically froze. On the ride home I wrapped my feet in my sweater.

The Master
I am the master of passion agression. It has to be the case. For some reason I've found myself being passive agressive lately. I'll do little things that on the surface may not seem rude, but I'm doing them out of spite or anger or annoyance. Do these people know this? Yes, I assume.
See? Right up there: passion agression. Maybe someone will see that and think I'm attacking them. Guess what? I am not. I am merely saying that lately I've been acting a little differently and been passive agressive, and I am admitting to that. Sound good?

Back to School, Unfortunately
After a somewhat relaxing one week off of school, I am back to the usual. The "usual" being sitting in a brick building for 8 hours a day trying not to fall asleep or cry. Such is the life of an average high school student.
My mom gave me a ride to school this morning, and we listened to some CD of hers, and she was explaining to me her favorite songs and it was all quite nice and relaxing. Trouble didn't strike until she pulled her car in front of the school. I carry a three-ring binder around school filled with all of my notebooks, papers, and folders. I only keep my computer and textbooks in my back pack. As I tried getting out of the car, I didn't quite have a tight hold on my binder, and it slipped out of my grip and flew apart on the asphalt. I hastily scrambled to gather all of my possessions then I booked it into the school with as much grace as I could muster.
What a way to start off school again, huh?

Please Be Still My Beating Heart
Oh no, guys. It's shaping up to be one of those nights. You know, those kind of nights.
The nights where I stay up late, eat too much candy, and write posts like this. I'm going to try and show some restraint tonight and not get riled up about an article of clothing. Admittedly, though, I do have a bunch of leftover Easter candy sitting next to me, and as sure as the sky is blue all of the candy will be in my tummy tonight. I don't know why I do this to myself, because every time I eat too much candy I get an awful stomach ache and end up almost puking. How fun, right?
In news that isn't related at all to my stomach, Netflix has updated their library recently with a whole slew of cartoons from my childhood. I think I screamed yesterday when I saw that Chowder season 1 was available for streaming. That AND they have Total Drama Island (I KNOW YOU'RE JUDGING ME AND I DO NOT CARE), plus many, many more. I have a lot of fond memories centered around these television programs, and I'm still debating whether or not this is a testament to how I spent my time as a preteen.
I think I was probably in sixth grade when TDI came out. I didn't follow the series, but I did watch the episode reruns on the weekends whenever I could. I had a HUGE crush on Gwen, and don't even get me started on some of the other characters on that show. One of the reasons I didn't watch the show the night it aired was because I was afraid that my parents would get mad at me for watching a show that used words like "crap". Ah, what a silly 12 year old I was.
As for Chowder, that was around while I was in seventh grade. At first I had dismissed the show as being stupid, but as I watched it more often, the more I fell in love with the characters. I'm really disappointed that Cartoon Network didn't give that show a longer run. In 7th grade I think I may have had even less friends than I do now, and Chowder was my own little escape during the weekends, when I didn't have to think about life, school, or any of my other worries.
TL;DR
I used to watch a bunch of television and I'm feeling all sappy about it today while I eat old candy and I'm trying desperately to not think about life right now buT IT IS NOT REALLY WORKING OH NO.
EDIT: WHAT UP, I JUST REALIZED I CAN USE THE "POOR REALITY TELEVISION SHOW CHOICES" TAG FOR THIS POST. FOURTH APPLICABLE POST, BITCHES.
