Why Blogging Sucks (The Abridged Edition)

Ever since my induction into the Summer Break lifestyle (staying up late, internet, eating junk food, more internet), about a week or so ago, I've been doing some thinking about this whole blogging thing. Before I get too ahead of myself, let me just say that I've been cheating on Blogspot and spending a lot of time on Tumblr recently. One main thing I've noticed about Tumblr is that on there, one person may have over 5,000 people following their blog. Now, I am not saying that those people do not deserve every single one of those thousands of followers. My guess is that they have a long history on the site, and have worked their booties off. I am genuinely happy for those people. "Good work being awesome!" I often say to my screen, nodding approvingly at the people who have blogs more popular than I could ever dream of mine being (Both my Tumblr blogs and this Blogspot one).

The one thing that starts to bother me is that there are some people who probably get no recognition for what they post. Maybe it's because other people aren't interested in the posts, or the fandom isn't very large, etc. I just can't help but wonder how those people doing the posting feel. They are most likely very proud of their blogs (I am damn well sure I'm proud of mine), but sometimes I worry unnecessarily if other people get so upset about not having followers as I do. I will admit this now, I want more followers. On all of my blogs. It is a hard pill to swallow, but as a blogger you have to be able to accept the fact that not everyone is going to like what you produce. This probably isn't hard to believe, but some days I go back through all my posts, read them, and think "How come nobody likes these posts? They're so freaking hilarious" (These days are extraordinarily outnumbered by the days where I reread old posts and then roll up in a ball and crey 5ever, but that's a whole different story).

I think that this never really occurred to me because in all honesty I never thought about any of this until Tumblr entered my life. I believe a big part of this is that on Tumblr there are more users who actually follow blogs than on Blogspot. I can really only think of three blogspot blogs off the top of my head that have more than a few hundred followers (Hyperbole and a Half, Books of Adam [okay, not really blogspot, but I think he just buys a custom domain], and The Sassy Curmudgeon).

Of course all of this makes me wonder if  my blogs will ever "make it". I suppose we'll never know until the future gets here, but gosh darnit that it such a long time away. I hope for the best with this humble Infinitely Pi, but even I lose the will to try and post, because it all seems pretty futile.

I am done being cynical about blogging now /ends rant

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go check Tumblr.

Help Me Remodel, Por Favor

I am feeling prosperous today, so I changed my background to loads of cash. What do you guys think? This won't be permanent, either (no one can feel prosperous every day, right?) Anyway, I want to commission all of you once again. I had loads of fun changing up my background for Josalyn's Birthday, and I want to keep up with that, and changing up my blog name too. Please leave some fun suggestions for what you'd like to see in the comment box! I would really love to make this blog more personal with all of you who read it, so it's like we all can own one little piece of it, I guess. Just leave a comment with a name suggestion and background color/theme you'd like. I'll try my hardest to fit your suggestion in! :)

Adios, 21-Day Challenge!

If you recall, I had mentioned how I was growing to stop posting about the 21-day challenge because I was growing weary of writing so many posts about it. After much careful thought, I have decided I'm not even going to participate in the 21-day challenge anymore. I based this decision partly on the fact that I kept forgetting to change my bracelet from wrist to wrist, and partly because I don't want to do it anymore. Yes, I realize that those are terrible reasons to stop doing it. I just don't have the gumption to go and do it every single day.

I think it's important to note that even though I am stopping early, I still was able to pull some life lessons away from it. On average, I do find that I am complaining less. I also figured out that complaining, while completely invigorating at times, is not the best option. Sometimes other people have even worse problems than you, and complaining about random crap doesn't help them. Being a listener is welcome almost all the time.

Okay, my Brady Bunch life lesson spiel is over (thank goodness). Overall, I am glad that I did the 21-day challenge, but I don't think I need to continue to have it be a part of my everyday life.

For the Love of Muumuu

I would like to make a case for the Muumuu.

Have you ever wanted to have the comfort of a tunic with the length and pattern of a dress?  Well, then do I know just the thing for you. The MuuMuu. That's right, there are 4 u's in that word. If that doesn't impress you enough already, let me tell you a little bit more about what a MuuMuu is and just what it can do to enhance your everyday life.

First of all, the MuuMuu is not a dress. No, it is something much better. Probably even better than you could ever imagine. It has the versatility and wearability that comes along with most leisure suits, but has the flowing nature of a dress. But this is not your average cocktail dress, my friend! The MuuMuu goes the extra mile by covering up anything you might be worried about showing through with a normal dress. Muffin tops? Erased. Busty chest? This is your dream come true. Unsightly tattoo on your shoulder you got at a shady shop in North Dakota? Not a problem. As you can see, the MuuMuu does more than just protect your naked body from the harsh elements. It acts as a shield that says "Look out world, I have class".

Another great aspect of the MuuMuu is that you can wear it anytime, anywhere. Picture this: you woke up thirty minutes late for a big party you were supposed to attend. Outdoors. In March. No need to fret! Simply pull a MuuMuu on and arrive late. Fashionably late, that is. The gentle swishing of your MuuMuu along your legs will not only turn heads, but strike fear into the hearts of your enemies.

I imagine you may still be skeptical about how owning a large quantity of MuuMuu's could help you in the long run, but I am sure these next few points will have you in a MuuMuu in no time. You see, like Kimono, MuuMuu's come in Spring and Summer weight cloth. So that means your MuuMuu can keep you warm any month of the year! It's like a snuggy, but better! I know some people think that wearing a MuuMuu is only for certain individuals living in warm climates, but nowadays, thanks to the internet and modern day shipping techniques, virtually anyone can be the proud owner of a MuuMuu.

To close, here are some pictures of the wonderful garment in action:

Look at the lovely flower-print design!

Even SeƱor Meow-Meow approves of the MuuMuu! How can you go wrong?

If this photo right here does not make you want to go out and buy a MuuMuu right now, then I clearly have not done my job correctly. Homer Simpson is the freaking poster child for the MuuMuu.

I rest my case.
